It’s that time of year when were all thinking about holidays. My holidays vary from beach locations, city breaks to hiking in a National Park and so when travelling I love travelling light. This also leaves me room in my case for shopping and I don’t have a lot of washing to do when I get home!
As a Professional Makeup Artist, even though I have a huge collection of personal makeup my holiday/everyday makeup kit is similar and I pack essentials only:
Jane Iredale PurePressed Base – I use this as a foundation, sun block, and concealer. This foundation is a very easy to use multi-purpose product which has SPF20 and UVA P++ protection and is water resistant for up to 40 minutes. All of this great protection plus it provides a semi matte buildable coverage.
YSL Touche Eclat – A definite must for brightening under your eyes after a big night out or too many cocktails around the pool!
Jane Iredale D20 Hydration Spray – D2O is brilliant for setting makeup and rehydrating your skin on long flights. This spray comes in a travel-friendly 2 oz. bottle and is also a hydration cooling spray for around the pool and days out.
Jane Iredale Moonglow Bronzer – A golden bronzer made with 24-Karat gold flakes, this product can be used to subtly create the “Golden Goddess” look with a hint of shimmer. I brush these quad bronzers on my cheeks, on my eyes as eyeshadows and also as an all-over bronzer to create a natural-looking glow.
Jane Iredale Rose Dawn – This has 4 stunning shades of pink through to bronze and can again be used on eyes or cheeks to give a healthy glow.
MAC Fluidline – This gel formula is so silky smooth and easy to apply. It is also water and smudge proof and lasts for a couple of days so no need to keep re-applying.
MAC Opulash Optimum Black – This is an intense black mascara which volumises your lashes and extends the curl of your lash. As it lasts up to 15 hours I add 1 coat for by the pool/daytime and another coat in the evening.
MAC Plushglass – This is a sheer lip colour with a pearlised finish. Great for daytime and evening. What is great about Plushglass is that it isn’t sticky to wear and contains vitamin E so it continuously moisturises and sooths your lips at the same time.
When travelling think ‘what do I need and what will I actually use on my holiday?’ You will use much less than you usually do on a girls night out and it’s a great idea to think about multi use products or different ways to use products which you already have.
Have fun packing your holiday makeup bag and testing the duplicate uses of products. Be imaginative and have a great holiday/honeymoon.
